So I've just created this design for Threadless...it's not up for voting yet, but even if it doesn't win, I'd like to have this design on a t-shirt - the theme of it is very true to me. I was, after all, raised by books.
Below is the button to the link that isn't up for voting yet...but hey, you can check out how it's going to look if you like.

I did this painting last week - it was a very organic work, nothing planned out - and felt very good to create. I actually intended this work to be an experiment using textures, such as granite and the like, but ended up not going that route at all. The medium is acrylic, and I love the clash of bright colors.
Going to classes at Santa Monica College is proving to be rather a hassle; I started signing up late, and everything's full. So instead I'm falling back on my original plan, and looking forward to taking painting classes with the middle aged and elderly. Judging by my recent experience of sitting in on a lone drawing class at SMC, I trust my future colleagues will have much more interesting subject matter to discuss.
I am including the glamour shots of the Mac keyboard because I bought one recently, and I must say, it is by far the best keyboard I have ever experienced. The feel of the keys is so light - perfect for my picky fingers which stick a lot on traditional raised keyboards. Although you know, I will always have a secret love for the stepped round keys of a typewriter...anyone up to make me a keyboard like that for a computer?

Howdy Kiddles! (Rhymes with "diddles" and "fiddles," not "biddies").
So what have I been up to lately? I stitched and constructed (by hand - stupid sewing machine) the above duo, Moonshine and Riblet - a pair of characters created by me and a close friend. They have little snaps on their hands that can be unhooked, or closed together as seen above so that they hold hands. I think these two deserve a comic or somesuch in their honor - they make me smile. Also, I'm signing up for art classes at Santa Monica Community College, and getting my life together in general. Interestingly enough, I've started in the bathroom - where all crap converges, I work to purge! I must say, it is mighty sparkly in my bathroom at the moment. I give it a week.
Moonshine and Riblet have copyrights retained by me, the Lopes. No stealing, naughtykins.
